Welcome to my part of our website. I'm a Dallas-native and have lived a few different places in the Metroplex throughout my life.

Jay

I've been working on and off (mostly off) for a long trying to get our family website up and running. I've hand-built a site with drop-down menus and clickable buttons with our families pictures on them. I've even built a Javascript photo gallery.

The problem is that after all of that I would still have to edit the site myself everytime anyone wanted to change anything. Not because it's hard, but because there is no nice graphical way to change things. You just have to write HTML code directly. So after all that it is obvious that we needed to just find a nice webiste manager and use some nice simple editing tools to get our site working.

So, here it is. I think you'll like it because you'll actually get to see something.

My main distractions and fun for myself are movies and science-fiction.

I've been a Star Trek fan since the 70's. One of those ironic moments in life had me wanting to watch Star Trek but it only aired on a UHF station when our old TV got only VHF stations. One week the old TV went out and we finally got a new one - and it had UHF reception. I was so excited and got to watch Start Trek! But the next week that station ended its season of Start Trek and it was years before another station picked it up again.

I've also been a long-time fan of Dr. Who. One summer when we went up to Iowa to visit my grandparents I was bored and started channel surfing. I just happened to hit the opening sequence for a Tom Baker episode and was immediately hooked. The problem was that we only stayed a week and they only showed episodes once a week. So it would be another year before I could see another episode!

Despite my trials, I became a fan. Other shows, great and small were not always so hard to watch. Additional favorites include the British series UFO, the old as well as the new Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, and Stargate Atlantis.

My favorite site away from science fiction, and a great place for information, humor, and wit is the Straight Dope.
