Over the years we have noticed funny, strange or unusual signs while on our travels.  Some of the most ironic or humorous signs were passed along the interstate and we weren't able to photograph them.  But, here are some of the ones we managed to capture...

Nov 1998 - Colorado Springs, CO Sign seen at base of Pikes Peak. Bigfoot not seen...this time.

Spring 1993 - Waco, Texas On the road to the Branch Davidian Compound shortly before the fire - Amy was a freshman at Baylor in Waco that year

September 2003 - Arkansas Children's Museum Perfect for a little boy learning how to walk!

October 2004, near Palestine, Texas Redneck Haunted House, this way - spotted on the road to Jay's Mom's lake view property

May 2005 - Wiesbaden, Germany Grandma and Andy under a Graetz sign - Grandma's maiden name

June 2006 - Somewhere in Oklahoma Yeah, they sell arms there, but I hear they charge an arm and a leg...

June 2006 - Somewhere in Oklahoma We couldn't actually find the dropoff, but if there was one, I'd prefer to see a sign put up by the HIghway Department!

June 2006 - some truckstop somewhere ...and after being prosecuted, subject to be sent back to English class...

June 2006 - Oklahoma ...if you park your vehiceles here, you will be sent back to Spelling Class. And don't even get me started on the double-negative. If no parking is prohibited, then parking is requred...and what will be towed?

July 2006 - Belle Island, Detroit, Michigan So if you can't stand up, you should be laying down...or what? I hope my 4-year-old does not get a citation!

December 2006 - behind the Gaylord Texan This one is just cute. A woods named after our Katie! :

August 2007 - Yellowstone National Park But do the Mammoths know how to read the sign? Or do they just go wherever they want to?

June 2007 - Bucksnort, Tennessee When they were naming towns, who thought this would be a good one?

Dec 2007 - Athens, Texas Plants enter over here, Animals enter over there, and Minerals enter at next entrtance!

Dec 2007 - Athens, Texas By Aerobic System, I do not think they are referring to a home gym system...but thank goodness for that after-hours call for those late-night emergencies!

Dec 2007 - Athens, Texas Spotted this one at the Edwin L. Cox Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center - not funny, just colorful!

Dec 2007 - Cox Fish Hatchery, Athens, TX Ryan's nickname is Bee or Beezy so this sign was appropriate...

Dec 2007 - Cox Fish Hatchery, Athens, TX The Bee Talk is actually part of an interactive exhibit. The double-meaning is that Ryan's nickname is Bee, and he is for the most part non-verbal, so we'd love to push a button to hear him talk! Ironically, the button was broken so pushing it didn't inititate the Bee Talk...or for Bee to talk...

Dec 2007 - Lantana, TX This sign just surprised me to find in a residential area. I have seen the Deaf Child signs before - presumably because a deaf child would not hear a car approaching - but I have not seen an Autistic Child sign before. Maybe we should get one! But like the Baby on Board signs, shouldn't folks be careful driving with regards to ALL children?

March 2008 - Galveston Island, TX 0 and a half street - all of the streets in a certain older part of town have halves!

November 2008 - Manitou Springs, Colorado Sign seen in the Hippie District of Manitou Springs

November 2008 - Colorado Springs, CO Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - not sure what this means, perhaps to instruct deer hunters not to accidentally shoot moose??

November 2008 - Near Raton Pass, New Mexico Scary sign at the roadside rest stop! We didn't see any, though.

March 2009 - Manitou Springs, Colorado This sign was spotted in my Mom's neighborhood while out walking. Cute!

May 2009 - Denton, Texas I saw a sign like this at the pool in New Berlin, WI where I took lessons as a kid. It always stuck in my mind. Now, we saw this sign at the TWU Pool in Denton where Andy swam during the Swine of '09

November 2009 - Lancaster Airport Air Museum This was on the side of a military Jeep. Good thing they have a sense of humor about this kind of thing!
