Ryan has been going to Spirithorse since fall 2004. For the first several riding seasons, Ryan rode with Mr. Charles in a cart behind the horse and did lots or screaming. But in the end he liked going. We think he didn't like the sensation of not having his feet on the ground and not being in control. Once he got going, he was all smiles. Ryan eventually graduated to riding a small pony on the trails, and in Spring 2008 Ryan started riding in the round arena. While we're there all 3 kids enjoy swinging, petting the cats and dogs, and feeding the horses carrots or apples. Spirithorse is a fabulous place that does a great job of teaching children with special needs, giving them confidence, and opportunities to try new things.
